this album was recorded live and generated on a modular synth in quadraphonic, sometime in 2021 in seattle, wa, aka stolen Duwamish land. ZI7III is a collection of compositions that explore the musicality of phase relationships in data and sound. all event information is generated though the application of basis functions and bit transformations of a single control voltage source; no traditional sequencers nor preprogrammed sequences were used. the melodic and harmonic progressions are derived from the state of the patch, sampling errors (which induce phase in time), and occasional operator changes. phase is created in sound through processed "stereo" voices, mid-side processing, and a traditional 6-stage phaser.
